Overview
This tour takes you to Mecca. The Hajj is an Islamic pilgrimage and religious duty that must be undertaken by all financially capable and able-bodied Muslims at least once in their lifetimes. One of the five pillars of Islam, the pilgrimage to Makkah occurs from the 8th to the 12th Dhu al-Hijjah, the last month of the Islamic calendar. The Hajj is essentially a demonstration of a Muslim’s submission to God. Literally, the word Hajj means ‘to intend a journey,’ which refers to both the outward act of a journey and the inward act of intentions. The rituals performed in Makkah are symbolic of those conducted by the Prophet Muhammad during his final visit to the city.
